Bio Charlie Elliot-Bearce:   
Charlie Elliot is 22 years old and a student who is currently doing missionary work in Sub-Saharan Africa for 7 months. When he gets back from Africa in August he will be enrolled at SUNY Geneseo, and plans to graduate this December with a bachelors in Business Administration. He plans to go on to work in International business. Charlie has been on the Board of Hope Unites for approximately 1 year, and has been Vice president also for a year. His work with Hope is what brought him to Africa and he hopes to continue that work both in Africa and elsewhere.

Bio Mike Orr: Mike is a test engineer at Delphi Engine Management in Rochester, NY.  He has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering  from the University of Rochester. He has been leading mission teams for the last 5 years.  Mike is a HOPE Certified Leader and He has been involved in leading youth mission teams to Peru and Paraguay.  He has led teams to Disaster Response areas and has recently led a team to Kenya, Africa.  Mike has traveled to 20 countries in the last 5 years and he worships at the Four Square Pentecostal Church in Dansville, NY.

Bio of Chuck Gommer: Retired United Methodist pastor; former District Superintendent and Conference Council Director/Executive. Elected General Conference delegate-1984, 1988; Led volunteer mission/work teams to; Mexico (2) Zimbabwe (5) Honduras(1) Haiti (9) Cuba (6) Mississippi (3): Wyoming Conference Volunteer In Mission Coordinator; Board of Director, Hope Unites Ministries, Board of Trustees, Wyoming Annual Conference and Board of Trustees,Wyoming Seminary Preparatory School.

Bio: Howard McGlauflin is a Certified Lay Speaker and Lay Member to United Methodist Annual Conference; lay leader local church, member of the NE Conference Local Church Transformation Committee, Board Member, United Methodist Economic Ministry and Chair of the Executive Board, UMVIM-Northeast Jurisdiction and Mission Secretary NH District.  Certified trained in disaster response by UMCOR. Mission teams to Zimbabwe, Peru, Baldwin LA; United Methodist Economic Ministry in Salem ME, Biloxi MS, New Orleans LA and Reading MA.  Howard and his wife, Joan have served as long-term volunteers at UMCOR Sager Brown.  They have been co-team leaders for HOPE Unites, First Church Congregational MA, and the New Hampshire District. Together they are the Co-Coordinator UMVIM, and Disaster Response co-coordinators for the New Hampshire District.  Members of the NH District Ministry Team and the Conference Visioning table.  HOPE trained team leaders, Red Cross trained in first aid.

BIO:  Graceann G Forrester PT, DPT, CKTI

Gracie has earned Bachelor’s degrees from College Miseracordia, Dallas PA and New York University. She will be completing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy through Boston University in August 2007.  She enjoys treating pediatric clients in addition to those with post-operative, traumatic or repetitive motion injuries. While at FLPT, she has developed a program to enhance the strengths and life skills of patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).  In addition to the outpatient clinic, Mrs. Forrester provides treatment for community hospicare and youth correctional facilities. She has taught clinical application classes as an adjunct faculty member for Ithaca College’s Physical Therapy program.

As a consultant, Gracie:

  • Developed and implemented workshops for central NY industries, focusing on “Promoting a Healthy Back”

 

  • Works with gynecologists to assist in the treatment of urinary incontinence

 

  • Works with local maxillofacial specialists to assist in the treatment of Tempromandibular Joint Dysfunction

 

  • Offered educational programming to improve transportation and therapeutic positioning of children with disabilities at an orphanage in Port Au Prince, Haiti

 

Mrs. Forrester is a Board Member of Hope Unites, an “international ecumenical organization specializing in humanitarian aid and disaster relief”.  She also serves as the Curriculum Chair, for the KinesioTaping Association –Americas: Board of Education.
