We are
working with a Pentacostal Evangelical Fellowship of Africa (PEFA)
Church in Pastor Peter Deyah's home village. We met with the
pastors in the nearby city of Kisumu. They took my friend,
Terry and I, up a nearby mountain into a tiny village of about 40
families. Here we found the walls that the community had built
with the dream of it one day being a church. They asked us if
we could help them construct the roof of the church. We are
hoping to send a mission team to assist in this endeavor in July of
2007. If you would like to donate to this project, we welcome any
contribution that you would like to make. Or, if you would
like to join our mission team to Kenya, we would love that as
well. Click on the Africa Missions link on the left column to
join our team.
Kisumu Village
Medical Clinic: In this same community, there is
an increasing number of widows. Many of the men in this
village have died from HIV/Aids and the widows, left to raise
numerous children, are often very sick themselves and don't
realize why they are sick or what it is that they have. We
spoke to the PEFA church to see what it would take to establish a
medical clinic in this community. Truly, it wouldn't take much
of an effort at all. The construction of a medical building
would consist of 2 rooms approximately 12'x12' a waiting room and a
patient room. If we establish a medical clinic, we can get the
medications needed to help treat and /or test people for
HIV/Aids. This is a future project that we hope to take
on.

The community worships inside this building. Inside the
walls of this church, is a metal structure with a roof, this is the
temporary building for this church.
